About Sharum's Garden Center in Fort Smith, AR.
Continuing the tradition, generation to generation
In 1938, L.A Sharum opened Sharum's Greenhouse just east of Fort Smith on what is now Rogers Avenue. As the business grew, Gene and Mildred Sharum assumed control and continued the Sharum's legacy of hard work and delivery of quality products.
Gene and Mildred's son, Frank, has been in the landscape and nursery business his entire life and continues the Sharum tradition of quality through Frank Sharum Landscape Design, Inc. which he began in 1979. Frank Sharum Landscape Design, Inc. has grown into a multi-million dollar corporation and is now the largest landscape and design company in the bi-state area.
In 2002, Sharum's Garden Center opened at 10000 US-71 South. Sharum's Garden Center sits on over nine acres and has close to 80,000 square feet of greenhouse space making Sharum's Garden Center the largest in the state of Arkansas.
In 2005, Sharum's Garden Center NWA opened for business on Hwy 412 in Springdale, AR to better serve our garden center and landscape customers in Northwest Arkansas, Northeast Oklahoma and Southern Missouri.
The Sharum name continues to be synonymous with landscape and gardening excellence and the Sharum "Tradition of Quality" continues through the third generation under the direction and leadership of Frank Sharum.
